An Update on What's Going On At E.A.R!
Greetings one and all, it's been a good while since our last blog update and there's plenty to talk about so let's get right into it.
We've welcomed several new shows and presenters to the E.A.R team this year, with the likes of Revolt Into Sound, I Can't Believe It's Not Bollocks, The Cinematic Setlist, Take One Movie Reviews and Centromika bringing everything from the latest post-punk music to history documentaries and audio drama to our airwaves. We're *always* looking to add to our line up though so if you want to make a radio show for E.A.R then please do get in touch.
There are plans in the works for both the release of a fundraiser compilation on bandcamp in August and an Eastern Alternative Radio night at The Brewery Tap pub in Sudbury, Suffolk mid-December. Keep an eye on our social media pages for news about these exciting developments.
We also set up mixcloud pages for several E.A.R shows and a general page for the station overall (see the "listen again" button on the main page). This had been requested by several listeners and so a selection of E.A.R shows are available to listen to on demand over there on mixcloud.
Our paranormal chat show The Sunday Scaries is due to return with a second series late September, the first series was received well by listeners and we look forward to bringing you more tales from Spooky Suffolk and beyond as the darker nights begin to draw in. History show I Can't Believe It's Not Bollocks has a second series on the way as well, with resident history buff Moose already working on new ideas to bring you the weirder side of history with a healthy dose of metal to boot.
Sadly, due to injury, Terry Burrows' Encyclopaedia Progtannica is currently on hiatus. We all wish Terry a speedy recovery and hope to bring East Anglia's best prog radio show back to your ears asap. A temporary replacement show will be brought to you by Moose, watch this space for that.
By August, we will have reached our first birthday as a station. The first year is flying by and it's amazing to think of the sheer volume of content our presenters have put together in that time, as well as the sheer breadth of subject matter covered. From shows as specialist as the only pro-wrestling radio show in East Anglia with Wham Bam Bodyslam, to as general as The Late Show and new daily trivia show On This Day, we've got a truly impressive line up for a 100% independent radio station.
New ways to listen continue to come through all of the time and it's great to see some of you have been getting EA.R on in the car. Remember to wind those windows down this summer, folks ;)
