As we reach the end of our third month as a radio station, it's time to look back and reflect on how things have been going for us. October has seen another increase in overall listener hours, up by 22% on September so a huge than you to everyone who has been listening to our shows is in order!
We have been tweaking the schedule throughout October to find the right balance, and will be running shows all day from Midday onwards going forward. New episodes of shows will stay in their current slots for continuity, but you will also be able to catch repeats of previous week's episodes throughout the day, every day - so it's always worth tuning in to Eastern Alternative Radio.
We have also begun adding new content styles to the daily line up, with documentaries, comedy shows, interviews and news features in the works, with one new show starting just today at 4pm from Top Turnbuckle host, Johnny, who will be bringing us a parody of He-Man and The Masters of The Universe which promises to be great nostalgic fun for 80s kids and everyone else.
Expect more great content to be added on a regular basis!
We've had some great music sent in from independent artists throughout the month, with thanks to all the artists concerned. We've played each and every one of them throughout the month, some ofthem several times. Please do keep those coming folks. We were delighted to welcome Ady Simmonds Nocturnal Projections show to the weekend line up of shows. His eclectic but highly curated mix of darkwave, synth music, IDM and post-rock is the perfect way to unwind at the end of a long week. Catch him on Friday and Saturday nights at 11pm, and make a note to catch him live at The Smokehouse (South Street, Ipswich) in support of chiptune pioneer Pixelh8 in December!
